Bengaluru-based travel technology company OnArrival has secured $175,000 in pre-seed funding from Antler India. The funds will be used to hire personnel for the sales and technical departments.
OnArrival, founded in 2022 by Ankit Sawant and Pawan Shetty, focuses on closing user experience gaps (APIs) by integrating 20 auxiliary travel services onto a single platform using its own application programming interface.
This allows online travel agencies (OTAs) and other travel booking channels to offer these services to their clients through a single interface. The company aims to help B2B customers better serve their end-users, ultimately leading to a healthier bottom line. Nitin Sharma, partner at Antler India, sees a bright future for travel and believes that seamless and connected experiences will be the key.
He emphasizes the potential for value creation in API businesses like OnArrival, with technology moats and network effects playing significant roles. Antler India typically invests between $300,000 and $500,000 in early-stage ventures across various industries. Last week, the firm led a $270,000 pre-seed capital round for Salad, a femtech platform. As of 2021, Antler had raised $300 million for its global fund, and it has expressed its intention to invest between $100 million and $150 million in Indian businesses over the next three years.
