Adidas, a well-known name in sportswear and lifestyle, has made a bold move into the digital realm with its latest project, “Residency by Adidas” from Adidas /// Studio. Launched during Korea Blockchain Week in Seoul in September, this initiative represents the intersection of fashion, digital art, and blockchain technology. The inaugural art sale within this program will feature a diverse range of artistic talents, including MonkeeMoto from Tokyo, known for their game development, and Lebanese artist Adra Kandil, also known as Dear Nostalgia, who has previously collaborated with luxury brands like Gucci and Chanel.

Adidas sees the Residency as a platform to support digital creators and foster potential collaborations leading to tangible products in the future. Stacey King, who leads Communications and Activations at Adidas /// Studio, expressed her excitement, viewing this as a natural progression following their earlier ventures in the Web3 space. The limited NFT collection, featuring 100 artworks for each artist and priced at approximately $250 (0.15 ETH), will be exclusively available to attendees of the Seoul event, along with an Adidas hoodie. Additionally, open edition NFTs, priced at around $50 (0.03 ETH), will be open for minting by enthusiasts from September 6 to 11.

This initiative complements Adidas’s ALTS Ethereum NFT series, which recently collaborated with BAPE to release exclusive sneakers with digital counterparts. As Adidas embraces its digital journey, Stacey King hints at more innovative projects to come. This venture, which merges art, fashion, and technology, reflects the evolving intersections between the digital and physical realms, redefining collaborations and artistic expressions in the digital age.
