Hobit, a platform specializing in non-academic skills learning, has successfully secured $200,000 in seed funding. Founded by Gaurav Dua, Arpit Tyagi, and Lakshay Rohilla during the initial lockdown in 2020, Hobit focuses on the extracurricular activities and hobbies market, providing opportunities for individuals to learn from top-notch industry professionals.

Operating as a virtual learning platform based in Faridabad, Hobit facilitates connections between eager learners and skilled mentors through live mentoring sessions, engaging experiential learning, and fostering a sense of community.

Strategic investors, including Vaibhav Mittal (CEO, AKC Group; Investor; Entrepreneur), Varun Hangloo, Rachit Poddar (Angel Investor; London Business School), Rajesh Gupta, Sharad Todi, IVY Growth Associates, and Marwari Catalysts Ventures, actively participated in this investment round, which combines elements of venture capital and acceleration.

IVY Growth Associates played a significant role in the success of this funding round, along with other strategic investors from Nagpur, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Their involvement is expected to contribute significantly to the company’s expansion, market penetration, and long-term sustainability.

Currently, Hobit boasts a community of over 50,000 members and collaborates with more than 50 tutors spanning three countries: India, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain. Hobit, a pioneer in India’s passion economy, claims to offer comprehensive solutions that empower skills and knowledge, enabling the realization of dreams for potentially millions of students from diverse backgrounds across the country. According to a press release, the company has partnered with renowned artists and education experts to develop a well-structured curriculum. These courses are delivered through live online classes by experienced instructors and award-winning artists, all from the comfort of one’s own home.
