OYO, a hospitality technology platform, has announced a strategic partnership with Adventure Women India, a travel organization that encourages women to embrace active and adventurous travel experiences. Adventure Women India represents various travel industry players, including tour operators and hotels, offering its members the opportunity to choose from a curated selection of trusted and secure travel providers. As part of this collaboration, group members will enjoy several benefits, including the convenience of selecting accommodations from a network of safe, clean, and budget-friendly hotels.

Kavikrut, Chief Growth Officer at OYO, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting solo female travelers, a trend that has been growing globally. OYO aims to empower and facilitate women in India who choose to travel solo. According to the OYO Travelopedia Report 2022, a significant number of customers plan to embark on solo trips in the current year, aligning with their 2022 travel goals. The concept of women traveling alone has gained significant traction in the past decade. A survey conducted by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation revealed that female travelers accounted for more than half of all single-member overnight domestic journeys in India between 2014 and 2015.

Minal Mathur, co-founder of Adventure Women India, highlighted the safe and supportive community they have created for their members, where women can engage freely, connect with peers, influencers, and experts without fear of judgment. She expressed excitement about the partnership with OYO, which will cater to the diverse needs of their members.

Before the pandemic-related restrictions impacted the hospitality industry, OYO’s booking data reflected a similar trend. In 2019, bookings made by women increased by 63% compared to the previous year.
